Employment Opportunities
Shade Canyon School is a public charter school based in the principles of Public Waldorf education and located in beautiful Kelseyville, California. The school opened in September 2023 on a leased site with grades TK-2. We will add one grade per year up to Grade 8. Nestled at the base of Mt. Konocti along the scenic shores of Californiaʼs largest freshwater lake, Kelseyville is full of small-town charm, rich agricultural heritage, wide open natural spaces, and diverse families who are excited to fill our classrooms at the second classroom-based charter in all of Lake County.

Commitment to Pupil Safety (SB 848 & AB 2534) In compliance with California Senate Bill 848 and Assembly Bill 2534, Shade Canyon School is committed to the highest standards of pupil safety. As part of our hiring process, all applicants for any position are required to provide a complete history of their previous employment with any local educational agency, charter school, or private school.
Pursuant to Education Code Section 44051, Shade Canyon School will conduct a "peer-to-peer" inquiry with an applicant's former school employers to determine if the applicant was ever the subject of a substantiated investigation of egregious misconduct, including but not limited to child abuse, sexual misconduct, or other acts as defined by law. By submitting an application, candidates consent to this mandatory background vetting process.
