Walk with "Magical Forest" Parade Float at Christmas in the Country

Walk with Shade Canyon's “Magical Forest” float for Kelseyville’s Christmas in the Country Parade on Friday, December 2, sponsored by the Waldorf toy store Circle of Hands www.circleofhandsmarketplace.com, with trees, mushrooms, and woodland animals that might be found in the “shade canyon” forest on Mount Konocti. 

UPDATED INFO on how to participate:

- Meet at 5:45 p.m. at Circle of Hands at 3850 Main Street in Kelseyville. 

- Arrive early to find parking--we suggest parking on the north side of town. 

- We will get dressed in costumes and stay warm in the shop until right before the parade, when we will walk to the float together (parade starts at 6:30 p.m.). 

- For any latecomers who need to catch up: the float will be lined up near Main and 1st Street.

To wear:

- It is forecasted to be in the low 40s by 6 p.m. Please layer up the children's leggings, socks, and jackets, and wear neutral colors on top of all the layers.  

- If you have neutral-colored animal-ear headbands at home, please bring them along! We've had so many lovely folks RSVP, we may not have quite enough ears for everyone.

- We will have some simple tunics, capes, and animal headbands for the children to wear over the top of their other clothes. We have a couple of skunk and racoon-colored tunics, so if someone feels drawn to those, black would be an appropriate under-layer. 

To bring:

- Snacks and drinking water!

- Lanterns to carry (you can borrow battery-operated candles from us--and we will have some lanterns for those who don't have any).

- Parents with small children: feel welcome to bring a wagon to pull them in. If you do, please decorate your wagon with battery-operated lights, and if possible, winter forest decorations (just some fir branches would suffice). We'll be using a natural color pallette.
