This charter renewal is a regular and vital part of Shade Canyon’s existence. All charter schools are required to go before their authorizing board every few years to renew their charter in order to continue functioning as independently-run, tuition-free public schools. Shade Canyon School was approved for the first time five years ago, and now it’s time for our first renewal, for the charter term that will begin with the 2027-28 school year.
