Guidelines:

Please reserve a ticket for each child you expect to walk the Winter Spiral, for one of three time frames (starting at 5:30, 6:00, or 6:30). This is the 6:00 group.

We encourage you to be on time so that everyone has space to enjoy the spiral. When you arrive, a Spiral Guide will meet you near parking and lead your group to the spiral all together.

Be sure to bundle up for comfort on this winter evening. Please do not wear flowy clothes, for fire safety.

No photos during the spiral walk, please.

If we need to change locations due to rain, we will email those who have reserved tickets this weekend.

Participation is free.

About the Winter Spiral:

This beloved Waldorf festival begins with soft music and the lighting of a single candle in the center of a spiral of evergreen boughs, a symbol of life in the dead of winter. Then, one by one, each child walks the spiral with a Spiral Guide and a candle, lighting it in the center and then placing it in an apple along the path. The light brightens the path for those who come after. Each child walks at his or her own pace, in his or her own way.

This is a celebration of quiet confidence, of carrying light in darkness and sharing it with others. To witness the unique way each child moves through the spiral is a gift to all, the hush and reflection a chance to breathe in the rush of this season.

People from many paths and beliefs hold festivals that celebrate the return of the sun at this time of year with the longest nights. The depth of the nights and knowledge of the sure return of longer, warmer days resonates with our human experience on a deep level.

Está invitado a unirse a nosotros para la segunda espiral de invierno anual de Shade Canyon el 27 de noviembre. Reserve su boleto gratis para cada niño que espera caminar en la espiral de invierno, para uno de los tres períodos de tiempo (a partir de las 5:30, 6:00, o 6:30). No se necesitan entradas para adultos. 

Este amado festival Waldorf comienza con música suave y el encendido de una sola vela en el centro de una espiral de ramas de hoja perenne, un símbolo de la vida en pleno invierno. Luego, uno por uno, cada niño recorre la espiral con una Guía Espiral y una vela, encendiéndola en el centro y luego colocándola en una manzana a lo largo del camino. La luz ilumina el camino para los que vienen después. Cada niño camina a su propio ritmo, a su manera. 

Esta es una celebración de confianza tranquila, de llevar luz en la oscuridad y compartirla con los demás. Ser testigo de la forma única en que cada niño se mueve a través de la espiral es un regalo para todos, el silencio y la reflexión son una oportunidad para respirar en medio de esta temporada muy ocupada. 

Personas de muchos caminos y creencias realizan festivales que celebran el regreso del sol en esta época del año con las noches más largas. La profundidad de las noches y el conocimiento del regreso seguro de días más largos y cálidos resuena con nuestra experiencia humana en un nivel profundo.
